Someone at Church gave me this poem and I think it is wonderful.
A Home Prayer
Lord of all pots and pans and things,
Since I've no time to be
A Saint by doing lovely deeds
Or watching late with thee
Or dreaming in the dawnlight
or storming heavens gates,
Make me a saint by getting meals
And washing up the plates!
Although I must have Martha's hands
I have a Mary's mind
And when I black the boots and shoes
Thy sandals Lord, I find!
I think of how they trod the earth,
What time I scrub the floor;
Accept this meditation, Lord!
I haven't time for more.
...This was written by a 19 year old girl who was in domestic service in London a long time ago.

Everyday Prayer
I need Thee every hour, most gracious Lord;
No tender voice like Thine can peace afford.
I need Thee, O I need Thee;
Every hour I need Thee;
O bless me now, my Savior,
I come to Thee.
I need Thee every hour, stay Thou nearby;
Temptations lose their power when Thou art nigh.
Refrain
I need Thee every hour, in joy or pain;
Come quickly and abide, or life is in vain.
Refrain
I need Thee every hour; teach me Thy will;
And Thy rich promises in me fulfill.
Refrain
I need Thee every hour, most Holy One;
O make me Thine indeed, Thou blessed Son.
No tender voice like Thine can peace afford.
I need Thee, O I need Thee;
Every hour I need Thee;
O bless me now, my Savior,
I come to Thee.
I need Thee every hour, stay Thou nearby;
Temptations lose their power when Thou art nigh.
Refrain
I need Thee every hour, in joy or pain;
Come quickly and abide, or life is in vain.
Refrain
I need Thee every hour; teach me Thy will;
And Thy rich promises in me fulfill.
Refrain
I need Thee every hour, most Holy One;
O make me Thine indeed, Thou blessed Son.

Dear God: by Ruth Graham[at age 19]
Dear God, I prayed, all unafraid
(as we're inclined to do)
I do not need a handsome man
But let him be like you;
I do not need one big and strong
nor yet so very tall,
Nor need he be some genius
Or wealthy, Lord, at all.
But let his head be high, dear God,
And let his eye be clear,
his shoulders straight, whate'er his state,
Whate'er his earthly sphere;
And let his face have character,
A ruggedness of soul,
And let his whole life show, dear God,
A singleness of goal;
Then when he comes(as he will come)
With quiet eyes aglow,
I'll understand that he's the man
I prayed for long ago.
(as we're inclined to do)
I do not need a handsome man
But let him be like you;
I do not need one big and strong
nor yet so very tall,
Nor need he be some genius
Or wealthy, Lord, at all.
But let his head be high, dear God,
And let his eye be clear,
his shoulders straight, whate'er his state,
Whate'er his earthly sphere;
And let his face have character,
A ruggedness of soul,
And let his whole life show, dear God,
A singleness of goal;
Then when he comes(as he will come)
With quiet eyes aglow,
I'll understand that he's the man
I prayed for long ago.

Snow
Well, I was doing dishes this morning and as I looked out the window the beauty of the snow was so calming. God is amazing each of those thousand of snowflakes that made up the 2 inches was different. He takes his time to create something so intricate than what am I worried about, he knows the deepest desires of my heart and he will provide all my needs. And I can just take joy in being a daughter of him and rest in his presence.

Lovely
We had such wonderful weather today. 60° on January 7th in the midwest- almost impossible, but God blessed us with it and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Felt a little like the spring everyone longs for in the dead of winter. Thank you Lord for this lovely day :)

~Loneliness~
I heard once that loneliness is God calling to your heart and telling you to turn to him.
