December 6th... 23 days to go :)

Well, I am currently going crazy! Friday was my Persuasive Speech, it went well but I was so nervous!. Last night my friend Nathanael came over for dinner we played a game, ate pizza, and watched my favorite Christmas movie (White Christmas), it was fun and it was nice to see him, since he lives in Arizona I don't see him very often. Then today I ran, it was freezing!!!!!!! 20° and windy. Then ever since then I have been studying for my finals. I have to read my recipes for Mon, Tues, and Wed. organize a flow chart so I can do them in the allotted time and have them turn out well :) I also have a big nutrition final on monday and another speech on Friday. Then next week I have 3 written finals and the classes will be scouring the kitchens as school during our end of the semester cleaning. The should be fun ;)
I have been thinking a lot about my birthday and how it will be to be 20 this year. No more teen behind your name, I think it will be weird. But hey, that is all right now Love you,
~Elizabeth

Today at school=yummy

Well today I made cream puffs and carmel sauce. It was fun and yummy. Here are some pictures. Spending a whole lot of time at school :) Love you all.

Anton...

Well, as you know he is a SR this year and loving it though he is ready for a break for a few days. I had a opportunity earlier in the year to take some pics of him and I think he is using some a Sr. Pics. Last saturday he went to Semi-state, he ran a PR but he didn't advance. It was cold that day but I had fun watching. In fact some of the underclassmen are really crazy, a bunch of boys painted their bodies with the word Anton (and on their backs the word Brenna, the girl runner from PENN at Semi-state) A few races ago he and 9 other guys came to our house and cut mohawks into their hair, it was a little crazy looking :) but you know they are guys I don't always understand them. So here are some of the pictures I have taken of him.

My life now...aka college

Well, I have been really, really, busy. I have made a lot of very interesting food and am following with some pictures of some of the dishes. Speech class is going well but I still don't like it at all! I am getting an A in English!! and in most of my other classes too. I have a partner named Don who is in most of my class and he is absolutely wonderful. He is helpful, caring, and encouraging a great partner for any class and I think we will be in a class together next semester too. I also have another friend named jenni who is wonderful too. We went to dinner after out long monday and had a blast. We will be in multiple classes together next semester. So far this has been my semester. Love you all lots :)

So far this August...

On the 3rd we had a Surprise 75th Birthday party for my Grandma. We had a lot of fun. She was so surprised! All the Aunts got thrown in the pool, Tammy went into labor (and had a boy later that day), I took lots of pics, and everyone ate lots of food. The next day we went downtown Chicago and had a good time there. Lots of walking. We went to Navy Pier and I loved all the flags at the end of the pier. After that I didn't do much of anything fun this month. I ordered some school books and a knife set(for cooking). I have been able to watch some of the Olympics and hat has been fun. I am excited about the track events but I also love the swimming and gymnastics. I loved the 4X100 that the Americans one by just seconds!!! It was a great race! My bother starts school tomorrow and I start on the 25th. It should be a good year :) ttyl

The 4th of July

Happy Fourth of July. I want to thank all or our soldiers for their sacrifices for our freedoms. I don't know if you hear this that often but thank you from the bottom of my heart. I also want to thank all the guys I know that have joined the military: Alex, Steven, Tim, Nathanael, JT, Brent, Nick, Jake, Nick, and Clayton. Thank you guys so much for your willingness to serve. Have a great holiday everyone.

The bombs busting in air...

Tomorrow is the 4th of July, a holiday celebrated with beautiful fireworks and lots of food. But what do those lovely, bright, and even dazzeling lights in the sky represent? What do our soldiers think of and feel when they hear the explosions and see the bright flashes? Is is fun? or does it call up haunting memories and maybe even fears? I have know idea what the men and women who fought, and currently fight for our freedoms in this country have dealt with and seen nor do I think that I would be able to stand it if I did. My heart aches for them for what they have been though. I cannot make that fact of war go way, but I can remind others of what tomorrow means. The 4th of July is a wonderful celebration of the freedoms we have in the USA, but don't let it be just another day that you don't have to work or study for school. Remember what freedom cost (a lot) and that all those lovely fireworks are pictures to remind us of the bombs and the sounds of the battles that were, and are being, fought to keep this nation free. And tell those who have been through the real battles that you are thankful and you support them. God bless our soldiers.

~Loneliness~

I heard once that loneliness is God calling to your heart and telling you to turn to him.
